I have a scene, were a starship vanish with that effect, the trouble is how much would it cost.I am writing the scene and want to know, should I take it out.If it is over 5,000,that is to much.

The actual composite would be quite basic, assuming you don't have a whole load of other ships buzzing around in the same frame.

If you're doing it for TV, then it will be cheaper than for film, due to lower resolution = faster rendering = less to pay per hour.

I can do this effect at home on my PC using Adobe After Effects and KPT Mr Mercury plugin.

But you will need the source elements separately -- say a starfield background and the spaceship either against a bluescreen or a cgi model.

I have no idea how much the shot would cost if it was done professionally, but you might be surprised.
